Increases in National Minimum Wage

From October 2016 the National Minimum Wage will increase which will see workers aged between 21 and 24 picking up an extra 25p per hour.

The rate for the 21 - 24 age bracket will rise to £6.95 per hour.

Those aged 18 to 20 will see their minimum wage increase to £5.55 an hour (currently £5.30) whilst for 16 - 17 year olds it will increase to £4 an hour (currently £3.87)

This is in addition to the introduction of the National Living Wage for workers aged 25 years up which comes into effect on 1st April 2016 at a rate of £7.20 per hour
